The year 2006 awaits and…

I’ve been thinking about what I’ve done this year. I’m happy to report that I believe I’ve been spending my time making personal progress. Of course, not all my time has been spent wisely, but I must say that I’ve tried hard to add to my lamp oil*. It’s amazing how much the Lord has blessed me and my family, despite what the world, and me at times also, sees as impossible obstacles.  Our family has been blessed with sweet addition (I call her Wendy on my blog). Her arrival was a big challenge in respects to waiting for her–the labor and delivery was the easy part. When she was two months old, we moved across the country to Connecticut.  The challenges and spiritual growth we went through there were tremendous and overwhelming at times, but we got through them. I wouldn’t trade them for the world, but I don’t know that I want to do it again. :) After five months we moved back across the country to Utah again. We’ve now been back almost two months. We’ve been enjoying the time with family and friends again. We’ve celebrated the holidays together and dealt with the challenges of living with extended family.

I’ve read many books and changed several habits. I’m striving to have a more loving atmosphere in my home and spend more time with my children.

Through it all, David and I have grown closer and have a deeper understanding of the Power of Prayer and the Atonement. And though I still have much to learn and ton of growth to gain, I have to say that everything was worth it. I know that through all of life’s challenges and trials we will be blessed by keeping the Lord’s commandments.  He is there listening and responding when we are listening too. I know that the Lord lives and loves us. The true gospel of Jesus Christ is here on the earth again. Joseph Smith, Jr. was a propeht of God who restored the gospel in the latter-days, and we have a prophet today–President Gordon B. Hinckley.  I know that if we do what the Lord asks of us, we will be blessed.

What’s your mothering style

You’re a Moderate Mom!
Some days you outpace Super Woman, other days you kick back and just watch your kids play. You’re a fantastic mom and just happy to be in the middle of it all.

First Presidency Christmas Message

“At this glorious time of year, we bear witness of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is indeed ‘the way, the truth, and the life’ (John 14:6). He is our Exemplar, our Teacher, and our Redeemer.

“In this year commemorating the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Joseph Smith, we gratefully acknowledge the Prophet’s unparalleled role as the great testifier of the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. As he boldly declared:

‘And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!

‘For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father-

‘That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God’ (D&C 76:22-24).

“God be thanked for the gift of His Beloved Son. We add our testimonies that He lives and guides His people today. May His peace be with you and your loved ones this Christmas season and throughout the coming year.”

We’re back in Utah

It’s a long story, but the short of it is this…whatever we were supposed to learn/do in Connecticut must have been learned/done because we’re back in Utah again. We’ve been tremendously blessed despite some setbacks, but we’re doing our best and know that the Lord is on our side. Thank you all for your love and prayers.

He leads me

“And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.”
~Isaiah 42:16

I’m feeling like David and I are walking blindly.  We have faith that Heavenly Father knows what he’s doing, and I KNOW He would never lead us astray.  This is so hard, and I can’t even describe the roller coaster of emotions we’ve gone through; however, we’re reaching out to Him and know he is leading us where we can do the most good for His children.

My sweet grandmother sent us some money today.  I was crying when I opened the envelope. I don’t know where we’d be without such wonderful family and friends who listen to the Spirit and say or do what they’re prompted to do!
