The year 2006 awaits and…
I’ve been thinking about what I’ve done this year. I’m happy to report that I believe I’ve been spending my time making personal progress. Of course, not all my time has been spent wisely, but I must say that I’ve tried hard to add to my lamp oil*. It’s amazing how much the Lord has blessed me and my family, despite what the world, and me at times also, sees as impossible obstacles. Our family has been blessed with sweet addition (I call her Wendy on my blog). Her arrival was a big challenge in respects to waiting for her–the labor and delivery was the easy part. When she was two months old, we moved across the country to Connecticut. The challenges and spiritual growth we went through there were tremendous and overwhelming at times, but we got through them. I wouldn’t trade them for the world, but I don’t know that I want to do it again. :) After five months we moved back across the country to Utah again. We’ve now been back almost two months. We’ve been enjoying the time with family and friends again. We’ve celebrated the holidays together and dealt with the challenges of living with extended family.
I’ve read many books and changed several habits. I’m striving to have a more loving atmosphere in my home and spend more time with my children.
Through it all, David and I have grown closer and have a deeper understanding of the Power of Prayer and the Atonement. And though I still have much to learn and ton of growth to gain, I have to say that everything was worth it. I know that through all of life’s challenges and trials we will be blessed by keeping the Lord’s commandments. He is there listening and responding when we are listening too. I know that the Lord lives and loves us. The true gospel of Jesus Christ is here on the earth again. Joseph Smith, Jr. was a propeht of God who restored the gospel in the latter-days, and we have a prophet today–President Gordon B. Hinckley. I know that if we do what the Lord asks of us, we will be blessed.
