My stake had a wonderful Women’s Conference on Saturday, May 15th. I took a couple of hours of my Saturday to enjoy some spiritual food. Sister Lori Thurston spoke to us. I loved her overall message:
“Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the sign be given, and on the morrow come I into the world…” (3 Nephi 1:13).
She spoke of how the world has some pretty awful things going on right now; however, just like in the scriptures, there is hope! The Savior will come again! We should be lifting up our heads and being cheerful because we have hope that someday we’ll not need to worry about all the things we do now.
I needed her message. I loved how she also encouraged us to be specific in our prayers so that when they are answered, specifically, we will know that it was from Heavenly Father. It’s so true too!!! Try it yourself, although I encourage you to write it down in detail first, visualize it, pray for it, and have gratitude before it comes–because you know it’s coming!–and I promise that it will happen if you believe it will. That’s what faith is. As the Savior said,
“If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this…but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. ” (Matt 21:21-22).

When God wants a great work done in the world or a great wrong righted, he goes about it in a very unusual way. He doesn’t stir up his earthquakes or send forth his thunderbolts. Instead, he has a helpless baby born, perhaps in a simple home out of some obscure mother. And then God puts the idea into the mother’s heart, and she puts it into the baby’s mind. And then God waits. The greatest forces in the world are not the earthquakes and the thunderbolts. The greatest forces in the world are babies.

This is so beautiful. I love it too much to not share it! May you reflect on your “new life” whatever it may be and rejoice and be grateful!
